Elizabeth “Liz” Goebel, LMHC

Personal Bio

I am not currently accepting new clients; however, I anticipate opening my schedule to new clients in 2027.

My practice primarily focuses on treating trauma, which includes PTSD from a single incident, complex PTSD, attachment wounding, and emotional or physical neglect. I can be a good fit for individuals who understand their thoughts and beliefs intellectually but continue to feel “stuck”, are repeating patterns, or are experiencing emotional flashbacks.

The therapeutic modalities that I provide include:
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing)
Internal Family Systems (IFS) or “parts work’’
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)
Coherence Therapy

In addition to treating trauma, I work with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, and significant life transitions.

My approach is relational, non-coercive, and individualized. As a provider, I strive to be anti-oppressive and recognize how marginalization and systemic inequality impact mental health. I am passionate about making sure everyone I work with feels safe and comfortable in the therapeutic setting. In addition, I value participating in ongoing education and consultation to continue building and sharpening my skills.

Outside of the office, I enjoy reading, weightlifting, hiking, gardening, paddleboarding, spending time with friends, and eating tasty food. My husband and I share our home with our cats and a flock of hens. I would describe myself as genuine, playful, and curious.
