Personal Bio

I believe every person has a story worth hearing, and no one should have to face life’s struggles alone. For more than 20 years, I have had the privilege of helping children, teens, adults, couples, and families navigate difficult seasons with compassion, practical guidance, and hope. Whether you’re struggling with anxiety, relationship challenges, addiction, emotional regulation, life transitions, or simply searching for a greater sense of purpose, my goal is to help you move forward with confidence and renewed strength.

Many of the people I work with are facing challenges that feel overwhelming. I enjoy helping individuals work through addiction in all its forms—including substance use, pornography, sexual behaviors, compulsive spending, and eating-related concerns—as well as marriage and relationship struggles, career decisions, college stress, school challenges, bullying, athletic performance anxiety, and the emotional hurdles that come with every stage of life. I am especially passionate about helping couples strengthen their relationships before problems become divorce, helping individuals discover their purpose, and equipping people with the tools they need to better understand themselves, regulate emotions, and build healthier relationships.

My approach is centered on you. I believe therapy works best when it’s built on trust, respect, and a genuine therapeutic relationship. From our first meeting, my goal is to provide a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you feel comfortable being yourself. Together, we’ll identify the challenges you’re facing, recognize the patterns that may be holding you back, and develop practical strategies that help you create meaningful, lasting change. I believe your past does not define your future, and I will encourage and challenge you at a pace that feels manageable while giving you tools you can use long after you leave my office.

If faith is an important part of your life, I am happy to incorporate Christian principles and biblical perspectives into therapy whenever you desire. My faith shapes the compassion, respect, and hope I strive to bring into every session, but I always tailor treatment to each individual’s preferences and goals. Whether you’re seeking faith-based counseling or a more traditional therapeutic approach, my priority is helping you feel supported and empowered throughout your journey.

During your first appointment, you can expect a relaxed conversation where we’ll get to know one another. I’ll take time to learn about your concerns, your strengths, your interests, and what has brought you to therapy. Together, we’ll begin building a treatment plan designed specifically for your needs, so you leave with a clear understanding of where we’re headed and how we’ll work together.

I hope every person leaves our sessions feeling heard, respected, and valued. More importantly, I want you to leave knowing that change is possible. You don’t have to face life’s challenges alone, and my goal is to walk alongside you, helping you build the confidence, resilience, and hope you need to create the future you want.

Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, hiking, working outdoors on our ranch with our horses, serving at church, volunteering for mission work, watching my sons in their activities, and cheering on just about any sporting event. I also enjoy movies, fantasy and anime, board and video games, and spending time with our dogs, cats, and horses. Originally from Minnesota, I’ve been proud to call Indiana home for many years.

One message I often share with my patients is simple:

Your past does not define the present, but your present can define your future.
With hope, perseverance, and the right support, meaningful change is always possible.
