Personal Bio

I have been practicing as a mental health and addictions counselor for over 13 years. My areas of interest are with youth of all ages, but I have a particular passion for adolescents with both mental health and substance use struggles. I am drawn to working with youth as I find that our early years (especially the middle school and high school years) are by far the most stressful time of life one will go through but it is possible to get through it and come out the other side healthier and resilient – even if the path to get there wasn’t always smooth. While I predominately bring Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy principles into my work, I also am eclectic in my theoretical orientation of counseling and the change process in order to meet each patient where they are at. My promise to all my patients is that I will be honest and genuine – I don’t know how to put on a false front – I will be my true self in sessions and I hope that helps patients feel comfortable in doing the same.
