Personal Bio
I believe that every person experiences stress, pain, and challenges throughout life. During difficult times, it’s easy to become caught up in distressing thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations that can affect how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. My goal is to help you develop greater awareness, self-compassion, and mindfulness so you can respond to life’s challenges with greater clarity, resilience, and inner peace.
I most commonly work with adults experiencing depression and anxiety related to stressful life circumstances. I especially enjoy working with individuals who are committed to their own personal growth and are looking for support as they navigate life’s transitions and challenges.
My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in mindfulness. I incorporate mindfulness-based practices, Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Therapy, DBT-informed, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and compassion-focused approaches to help you better understand your experiences while learning to relate to yourself with greater acceptance and kindness. I believe that by becoming less entangled in our internal dialogue, we can create space for healing and meaningful change.
During our first appointment, we’ll spend time getting to know one another. I’ll gather information about your personal, medical, and family history, discuss your current concerns and symptoms, explore your support system, and begin building a therapeutic relationship where you feel safe, understood, and heard. My hope is that you’ll leave our first session feeling seen, listened to, and hopeful about the work we can do together.
One of the most meaningful aspects of my practice is helping people discover how mindfulness can support nervous system regulation while fostering greater self-compassion and acceptance. I often remind my patients that while the mind is trying its best to protect us, the stories it tells us with certainty are not always accurate. Learning to recognize those thoughts with curiosity rather than attachment can create tremendous freedom. Above all, I hope to help you reconnect with the goodness that already exists within you and discover a greater sense of peace, purpose, and well-being.
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family—especially my three beautiful grandchildren. I also love running and spending time outdoors.
One passage that has always resonated deeply with both my life and my work comes from the poet Rainer Maria Rilke:
“I beg you…to have patience with everything unresolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves as if they were locked rooms or books written in a very foreign language. Don’t search for the answers, which could not be given you now, because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps then, someday far in the future, you will gradually, without even noticing it, live your way into the answer…”
